Teresa Louise Smith, 69, of Marianna, Florida, died Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Jackson Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and children.
She was born November 23, 1956, in Coral Gables, Florida, to Paul Wendell Brock and Effie Juanita Mears Brock. She was the youngest of five children. She graduated from Marianna High School in 1975. She married her husband, Bruce Deen Smith, on February 26, 1977.
Teresa was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent 17 years of her marriage supporting her husband in the United States Army and she loved her country. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren, and never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she loved them. She was a substitute teacher at Marianna Middle School and worked with the Marianna High School Marching Band as the uniform chairperson and devoted “band mom” to students for over 15 years (even after her own children graduated). She loved all of her band babies. She grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her Relief Society sisters.
She is preceded in death by her son, Adam Spenser Smith, both her parents, and older brother, Larry Brock.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce; her children, Kristy Lynne Smith, Casey Jo Campbell and her son, Liam, and Brandon Deen Smith and his wife, Lizzie, along with their children, Logan and Nolan. She is also survived by her brother, Wendell Brock, and his wife, Jane; her sister, Diane Clayton; and her brother, Roger Brock.
Funeral service will be 10 AM Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marianna. Burial will follow in Sims Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 9 AM until the time of service.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the many medical professionals and various caregivers that worked with Teresa over the last few years.
