Shirley Dillard

Shirley Anne Dillard, 82 of Marianna, FL died Monday, September 28, 2026, at her residence.

Shirley was a hard-working woman all her life, with a strength, determination, and spitfire spirit that could never be overlooked. A multi-talented woman, she served her community as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a General Motors Assembly Specialist, HSS Supervisor, and as a retiree continued to serve as a long-time caregiver. Shirely carried an energy that stayed with you. No matter who you were or where you were in life, she had a way of speaking life into you, making you believe that you could do anything you set your mind to.

Her love for her family was immeasurable. The love and care she showered over her only daughter, Carol, flooded onto the next generation of those she called family. Her bereaved beloved companion, Ronald, whom she shared a blessed mutual devotion over four decades, will continue in this life. She loved deeply, encouraged freely, and gave those around her something they could carry with them long after the conversation ended.

Shirley also knew how to enjoy the simple things in life. A fresh cup of coffee on the porch with her daughter, a lively game of bingo, and time spent laughing and playing with her family, friends, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren brought her joy. Those everyday moments became some of the memories her family will treasure most.

As a follower of Christ, through all trials and tribulations Shirley never gave up and always kept her faith. Her resilience and persistence are a true testimony of the Lord's goodness. Her presence, her fire, her encouragement, and above all, her love will be deeply missed. Shirley's memory will continue to live through her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and every person fortunate enough to have crossed her path.

A time of gathering for her family and friends will be from 2 to 4 PM, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
