Robert S. Grindle

Robert S. Grindle, age 99, of Winter Park, FL, formerly of Marianna died Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his residence. He was a native of Moundsville, West Virginia. He moved to Pennsylvania at an early age then to Marianna, FL in 1953, with Graham Aviation. Robert retired from Unimac Company in 1993, as the Vice President of manufacturing.

He was a World War II Veteran and a life member of the Optimist Club, having served as president and Florida district secretary-treasurer; life member of the Marianna Lodge #1516, and the Marianna Elks Lodge. Robert was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Marianna for many years and chaired the Board of Trustees.

He was preceded in death by beloved wife, Bernice Kirkland Grindle, and his father, Robert Samuel Grindle Sr. and his mother, Marie Van Horn Grindle, his brothers, Russell Grindle of Texas, and Dennis Grindle of Michigan.

Robert is survived by sisters, Joyce Isaacson of Michigan, and Susan G Henry of Pennsylvania; nephew, Alan L. Hitt and wife, Karen Hitt of Orlando; and niece, Amy Hitt Verity of Winter Park, FL.

Graveside funeral services will be at 3 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Bonifay City Cemetery with Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Family will receive friends Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 1:30 PM until 2:15 PM at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
