Phyllis A. Carter

Phyllis A. Carter, 82, of Marianna, died June 6, 2026, at Courtyard of Marianna Nursing Care Center.

She was born December 26, 1943, in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio to Albert and Evelyn Crow Hillier. Phyllis enjoyed spending time outside, camping, and traveling. While living in Jackson County, she worked at Sunland Center for many years before taking on the role of Human Resources Consultant at the local Health Department. She loved the Lord and was of the Methodist faith. 

She is preceded in death her parents and her brother, Ronald Hillier.

She is survived by her husband, Hulean Eugene Carter; and her sister Leslie Wells.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, June 15, 2026, at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with David Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
