Peggy Ivey Cook, 90, of Marianna, Florida, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026.
She was born on July 30, 1935, to Chrystal and Charles Leonard Ivey. She married Vernon Cook and together they had one child. Peggy was a devoted military wife. She kept her mind and hands busy with her hobbies, crafting or doing puzzles. When a jigsaw puzzle wasn’t on the dining table or yarn next to her chair for her latest project, she had a book at the ready. Peggy always enjoyed traveling; she and Vernon made many camping trips together. She enjoyed spending her mornings watching the hummingbirds from her porch.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vernon Cook Sr., her parents, Chrystal and Charles; sister, Bobbie Williams; brothers, Charles Leonard Ivey and Ronald Ivey; her three children from a previous marriage, June, Ivey, & Billy.
She is survived by her son, Vernon Cook Jr., his wife Vickie, their two sons, Christopher and Aaron; and her sister, Chrys Ivey Goodwin.
Visitation will be 4-6 PM Thursday, July 9, 2026, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. A private graveside service will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Partners for Pets in Marianna, Florida, or the organization of their choice.
