Norman Lipford

Norman Lipford, 78, of Crawfordville, Florida died Sunday, January 18, 2026.

He was born June 1, 1947, at home in Marianna, Florida to Mary and Jim Lipford. He graduated from Marianna High School, served honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, where he received two Purple Hearts, and a Bronze Star, and later became a Master Electrician. He married his wife, Gail, in 1970, and they made their home in Crawfordville, Florida, where they raised their three children.

Norman loved to stay busy, and after his retirement as Chief Electrician for the City of Tallahassee, could often be found fixing things in his workshop, farming, or spending time with family and friends. He was avid outdoorsman, and a lifelong fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Gail (Capshaw); his parents, Mary and Jim Lipford; and his siblings, Pete Lipford, Preston Lipford, David Lipford, Hilburn "Punch" Lipford, and Sarah Lipford Harris.

He is survived by his children, Phillip Lipford, Michelle Lipford McNutt (Patrick), and Amy Lipford; his grandchildren, Ryan and Connor Lipford, Ethan, Addison, and Molly McNutt; and his brother, Herman Lipford (June), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 23, 2026, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Interment will follow in Lipford Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
