Mitchell "Mitch" Strickland

Mitchell Strickland, 47, of Chattahoochee, Florida, died Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Jackson Hospital.

He spent most of his time outside, either hunting, fishing, or working on cars. He loved his family, Leslie, Blake, and Alana were his whole world. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leslie Neel Strickland; stillborn daughter, Angel Nicole Stickland; father, Michael Strickland; stepfather, Lewis Phillips; brother, Mike Strickland; and grandmother, Stella Strickland.

He is survived by his son, Blake Strickland; daughter, Alana Strickland; mother, Tami Tyson; brothers, Cliff Phillips, Dwayne Phillips, Brian Tyson (Erica); sister, April McCoy (Ben); and many aunts and uncles who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be 2 PM CST Friday, March 20, 2026, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Burial will follow in Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 1 PM CST until the time of service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
