Miram Stewart, 89, of the Rocky Creek Community, died Friday December 4, 2015 at Jackson Hospital.
Miram was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army and retired from the Sunnyland Meat Co. as a Supervisor. Miram served as a deacon at Marvin Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Marianna where he was a member for more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isac Hinson and Laura Ingram Stewart; two brothers, Mike and Miles Stewart and one sister, Minnie Lee Chason.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Scrap" Stewart of Marianna, sister-in-law, Norma D. Stewart and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Marvin Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Marianna with Rev. Irvin Jennison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
