Lynda Helms Fellows

Lynda Helms Fellows, 71, of Grand Ridge died Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.

Lynda was born July 23, 1953, in Jackson Hospital to Fred Helms and Rubye Bradley Helms. She met and married Clyde Hugh Fellows on February 9, 1980 and was married 25 years until the passing of Clyde in September of 2005.

Lynda was a proud graduate of Grand Ridge High School and then went on to receive her Associate of Arts degree at Chipola College before moving on to the University of Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. She focused on her education and career, she later received her license in Dietetics and Nutrition. Lynda spent the majority of her career working with the Florida Dept of Health in Jackson County in the WIC program, ultimately gaining the title of WIC Coordinator. She helped countless clients throughout her time with WIC and loved her job serving others.

Lynda was a lifelong member of Grand Ridge Baptist Church, where she and Clyde served by teaching Sunday School for many years. Her commitment to her faith was profound, and she lived her life with a steadfast devotion to Christ. Lynda’s faithfulness and devotion to the Lord showed in many ways, her sweet disposition, warm personality, and genuine kindness to all. Out of all of her accomplishments in life, her greatest joy, other than serving the Lord, was being a wife, mother, and Grandma as she was known to so many.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her baby sister, Cynthia Helms; and her loving husband, Clyde Hugh Fellows.

Lynda is survived by her sister, Frances Duncan and husband, Glen of Altha, FL; sons, Mike Fellows and wife, Barbara of Alachua, FL; Carson Fellows of Rome, GA; Bradley Fellows of Jasper, GA; daughter, Janet Lowry and husband, Henry of Jay, FL; daughter-in-law, Amanda Fellows, of Grand Ridge, FL; cousin, Renee Hamilton, husband, Jim of Marianna, FL; granddaughters, Heather, Jessica, Katelynn, Krystal, Jennifer, and Grace; grandsons, Caleb, and Hunter; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Grand Ridge Baptist Church with Revs. Caron Harn and Danny Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Comunity Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service.
