Johnny Howard Jr., 95, of Marianna, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born to Johnny William "Bill" Howard and Rosie Mae Jackson Howard on August 6, 1930.
Johnny "Papa" was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and kept up with his Bible studies and prayer every chance he got. He always spread hope, love, and Christ. Johnny loved everyone and everything that was God's creation but he especially loved his family and grandchildren. He was a jack of all trades and a hard-working man with the greenest thumb around and could fix just about anything you brought to him. Between gardening, mechanical work, fishing with his great-grandson, Nikoli and granddaughter, Faith, and scouts/golfing with his grandson, Levin, Papa always had something to do.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny "Bill" and Rosie Howard; wife, Elaine Howard; daughter, Loria M. Berry; brothers, Jessie and Max Howard; and sister, Hazel Shirlene Howard.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Levin Berry and Faith Hinson and his bonus daughter, Cheri Hinson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and the many children who adopted him as their Papa.
Papa was loved and cherished by many and will be greatly missed.
