Joel William Platt

Joel W. Platt, age 64, of Marianna, Florida, formerly of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on March 31, 2025, at his residence.

He was born March 17, 1961, to Edward Charles and Rosalie Elizabeth Mowrey Platt.

His loss leaves a large hole in many hearts. His love for family and friends was indisputable and his smile would light up the room.

Anyone who knew Joel knew that he was kind, loving, caring, and lived life to the fullest. Joel had an immense passion for enjoying simple pleasures that life, family, and friends presented and was always a source of positivity. Family and friends will miss him more than words can say.

Joel’s death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, but love leaves memories that no one can steal. Breathe easy now Joel, your pain is no more, until we all meet again at heaven’s door. You will forever be loved and missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Mark Edward Platt and Glenn Charles Platt.

Joel is survived by his loving partner, Pinky Irene Lovering; siblings, Marilyn Ann Platt Holmes, Kerry Franklin Platt, Karen Anita Platt, Shawn Michael Platt, Robin Tracy Platt; and many beloved nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and friends.

Memorialization will be by cremation. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is directing.
