Jimmy Eugene Maddox, Sr., 59, of Grand Ridge Florida, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, at his residence.
Jimmy was the son of Jimmy Jessie Maddox and Leona Yeuonne Lewis. He was born on October 19, 1964, at his home. He lived a life filled with fun, adventure, laughter, and years of hard work. He had a big heart, enjoyed helping anyone in need and always had a wild story to tell to make you laugh. Growing up he spent his time helping his dad out on the farm.
As he grew older, he took interest in autobody repair, sand blasting and painting water towers, and worked for several years with Ducky Johnson House Movers. Later in life he was able to build a shop at his house, where he spent most of his time working on vehicles and other things.
He wasn’t afraid of work, but he also knew how to have a good time and bring laughter to everyone around him. He loved to fish in the ponds where he grew up at. Other hobbies he enjoyed were riding his toys down the backroads and farmlands in and around his stomping ground. He loved walking the freshly turned fields looking for flint and arrowheads.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Maddox and Leona Lewis, second wife, Karen Adams, Nephew, Jesse Scarborough.
He is survived by brother, Davy “Lee” Adkins of Iowa; sisters, Glenda Harris and Robin Baxley of Cottondale, FL; his children, David Forbes (Jessica), Jeremy Maddox (Aubrey), Justin Maddox (Kali), Jimmy Maddox Jr (Stephanie), Jennifer Nobles, Bailey McKenzie (Bret), Jenae Whalen (Mike); numerous grandchildren, one great grandchild; former spouse, Jennifer Maddox (Watson); nieces, nephews, cousins, and trusted friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation to his close friends who looked out after him. And a heartfelt thank you for the prayers, thoughts and acts of kindness provided by family and friends. Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who loved him and who were close to him.
