Malone

James Richard Smith, 83, of Malone went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ June 20, 2025.

James lived in Malone most of his life where he was known as Goat Man or Red. He loved to work on his farm with his son and family where he had a great compassion for raising hogs, chickens and goats.

James Loved the Lord Jesus Christ and when he got the opportunity, he would talk about Him. James was always willing to pray with you about everything.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lola Mae Grice Smith; his father, Arthur Lee Smith and an infant brother.

Survivors includes wife of 45 years, Glenda Smith; two daughters, Cynthia Smith, Christy Chambliss (David); his number one son, Keven Spencer (Katie Jo); five loving grandchildren who he cherished dearly, Jared, Deven, Allie, Matthew and Addy; sister, Eunie Mae Creamer (Dennis); several nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Collins Chapel Church in Malone with Bro. Stanley Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Collins Chapel Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
