Gordon “Ray” Koch, 89, of Dothan, Alabama, died Friday, February 6, 2026, at his residence.

He was born August 22, 1936, in Peebles, Ohio to James and Romie Koch. Ray was always a loving and giving person, sometimes to a fault. His dedication to helping others was evident in his everyday life as well as his four-year service in the US Air Force. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and when stateside, he worked in the motor pool.

He worked as a truck driver for over 50 years, working well past his 80th birthday. When he wasn’t outside or working, he enjoyed watching a rerun of any old westerns. He loved to fish, dove hunt, and be outside.

His dedication to his family and being a provider came second only to his faith in his Lord and Savior. He was active in his church, whether that be the many years he lived in Marianna, Chipley, or most recently, Dothan. Ray was always ready to serve or help, whether he knew the person or not, he was willing to be a blessing to anyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Arthur and Romie Edith Ross Koch; son, William Henry “Billy” Koch; stepson, Michael Eugene Henck; sisters, Mary Prudin, Helen Louis King, Ramona Ruth Stafford, Doris Eileen Koch; brothers, Robert James Koch, Richard Lee Koch and Charles Koch.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Koch; daughters, Nancy Koch-Low and Angela Rae Koch; grandchildren, Jerry Enfinger, Stacey Wilson, Bryan Koch, Taura Brock, Cindy Brannon, Deanna Keys; 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; son-in-laws, Robert Low, Timothy Toole, Derriene Keys; siblings, Juanita Crothers, Dixie Williams, Paul Junior Elliot; nieces, Sabrina Sizemore, Sandra London, Wanda Tidwell, and many friends and family who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Wallace Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Air Force Honors and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service.
