Gerald "Cooter" M. Hill Sr.

Gerald M. "Cooter" Hill, Sr., 82, of Cottondale died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his son's home in Marianna. A native and life long resident of Jackson County, Mr. Hill was a US Navy veteran and a member of Cottondale First United Methodist Church. He retired as a Lieutenant Supervisor with the State of Florida Division of Alcohol, Beverage and Tobacco. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by a son, Gerald M. Hill, Jr; his parents, John L. and Susie Mozell Hill; two brothers, John W. and Hertis Hill; one sister, Nina Devito. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Robbie Williams Hill of Marianna; one son, Robert Hill and wife Stephanie of Marianna; One brother, DeWayne Hill and wife Tammie of Memphis, TN.; six grandchildren, Kenneth Hill and wife Trish, Deus Hill, Hannah Truette and husband Chris, Patrick Hill and wife Taylor, Natalie Hill and Nicholas Hill; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, March 15, 2015 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Mike Hawes officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday, March 14, 2015 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. The Family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice.
