Gary Lynn Conner, 64, of Marianna, Florida, passed away on April 5, 2026. He was born on May 2, 1961, in Homestead, Florida.

Gary proudly served in the Army National Guard. He considered his service to the country one of his greatest accomplishments, carrying the spirit of service throughout his life.

Gary was a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator and a proud member of IUOE Local 103 in the Indianapolis area. He took immense pride in his work, and even more pride in telling the stories behind it. His family and friends will miss hearing his vivid tales of the many miles of road he helped build. The roads he paved will serve as a lasting tribute to his hard work and legacy.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman, finding peace and solitude in nature. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and bottle hunting.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Susan Conner; children, Brittany (Dave) Dalton, Chad Conner, and Kristen Conner; stepchildren, Dave and Matt Collier; his cherished dog, Killer Conner; grandchildren, Cillian and Abel Dalton; step-grandchild, Ty Hinman; sister, Joyce Conner; and extended family, Mark Sidwell and Sara Conner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mama and Daddy Conner; sister, Geneva Conner; brother, Bubba Conner; and his beloved dog, Lovey Conner.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Florida State Parks Foundation, supporting the preservation of the natural beauty Gary so loved.
