Dwight James Tillman, Jr.

Dwight James Tillman, Jr. 74 of Greenwood, Florida, died Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Dwight was born October 5, 1951, in Marianna, Florida to Dwight James Tillman, Sr, and Magdalene Ingram Tillman. He moved to South Florida and received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and then went on to receive his master’s from Nova Southeastern University.

His first job out of university was as a teacher, where he worked for ten years, before moving on to the private sector. He spent the remainder of his professional career in corporate America. He worked for many years before settling down at Bacen & Jordan law firm, where he retired after 23 years, working as the Director of Client Services.

Once he returned home to Jackson County, he became an active member of Chipola Civic Club and St. Luke Episcopal Church. Throughout his life, one thing remained constant, his love of Ford Mustangs. No matter where he lived, he made sure there was room for his three Mustangs in the garage.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight James Tillman Sr.; mother and stepfather, Magdalene Ingram Tillman Sarvis and David Sarvis.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Christine Sharkey; son, Dwight James Tillman, III and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Bella, and Sebastian Tillman; brothers, Bobby Tillman (Noel), Timothy Tillman (Molly); mother of his son, Patti Clements; many cousins, nieces and friends who loved him dearly.

Memorialization will be by cremation with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to express its appreciation to Emerald Coast Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Dwight over the past few months.
