Dorothy "Dot" Wefel

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Dorothy Olivia "Dot" Wefel, 81, of Marianna died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Jackson Hospital. Dot was a native of Marianna and had been an active Pink Lady for 23 years. She was a cancer survivor for 32 years and retired from Honeywell in Tampa,FL. Dot was an active member of the American Legion Post 100 of Marianna, and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wefel; her parents, William E and Mattie McClain Land; brother, Charles and sister, Myrt. Survivors include a son, Ronald, his daughter and two great grandchildren; a daughter, Vera, her son and two daughters and six great grandchildren; a son, Michael and wife Pilar, his six children and nine great grandchildren; one brother, James and three sisters, Peggy, Clara and Norma. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2015 at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. John Rollyson and Henry McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, May 28, 2015 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
