Doris Lucille Culver

Doris Lucille Culver, 85, most recently of Panama City, FL, died October 24, 2025, at Bay Medical Center.

She was born September 7, 1940, in Greensboro, FL, to Clifford and Dola Phillips.

Doris lived in the panhandle most of her life and was the first in her family to graduate from college. She graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree. Her passion in life was to work with and bless the residents of Sunland in Marianna, Florida. She started as a house parent and eventually retired from an administrative position after over 30 years of serving the residents.

Doris loved to enjoy a good meal, especially with good company! Dessert was always a must no matter the occasion. She was diligent in her faith, strongly believed in education, and loved a good book. Faith, family and friendships were the three most important things in her life. Doris was always willing and ready to help! Especially if it meant her family could all be together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Culver; parents; and her siblings, Alma Skipper and Louis Phillips.

Doris is survived by her three children, Sheila Baxley (Willie), Sharon Hindman, John Hollis; grandchildren, Ginger Baxley, Jake NeSmith (Sissy), Cassie Cole (James), Will Baxley (Meghan), Valerie Mahaley (Brandon), Kathryn Hollis; 14 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Shephard (David).

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, October 30, 2025, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Pastor Gary Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
