Christy Malette Cook

Christy Malette Cook, 40, of Sneads, Florida, died August 27, 2025, due to a tragic car accident.

She was born on January 16, 1985, to Tim and Stephanie Cook. Christy graduated from Marianna High School in 2003 and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She always loved all things beauty and got her cosmetology certification. She loved all things makeup, jewelry and of course, hot pink! Christy was unapologetically herself and lived her life to the fullest.

Christy was always seeing the best in people and could light up any room she walked into. Above all, she loved her children. Jayden, Trenten and Eddie were her greatest accomplishments and lights of her life. She and her mother were always close and enjoyed spending as much time together as they could. Christy loved being a mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and granddaughter. Spending time with her family always came first and was always time she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry “Tim” Cook; paternal grandparents, Sheila and Jerry Cook; maternal grandfather, Otho Hobbs; and granddaughter, Elariah Corbett.

She is survived by her children, Jayden Corbett (Courtney), Trenten Corbett (Haleigh), Eddie Corbett III (Skylar); mother, Stephanie Baker (Lavon), siblings, Timothy Brent Cook, Charlie Cook, Jeremy Cook; granddaughter, Kelsie Corbett; maternal grandmother, Glenda Porter; nieces and nephews, Alvin McFarland III, Arlie McFarland, Caidence Cook, Blakleigh Purvis; best friend, Jasmine Henderson; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Rivertown Community Church in Marianna, Florida, with Rev. Bill Mayo officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Church of Christ with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rivertown Community Church.
