C. Michael “Loggerhead” Daniels, age 61, of Marianna, passed away at home on October 11, 2026.
Logger was born in Marianna to Clifford and Susie Bea Powell Daniels and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County.
He was a 1983 graduate of Marianna High School, where he was a magnificent trumpet player in the “Pride” Band. Following graduation, he briefly worked at Daffin Mercantile. Logger later attended Chipola College, where he earned his certification in law enforcement. He proudly served his community for 26 years as a Jackson County Deputy Sheriff, retiring with the rank of lieutenant.
After retirement, he filled his days by spending time in the woods and the gun room at McCoy's. Logger was an avid hunter who loved nature and the outdoors. One of his greatest passions was hunting alongside his son, John Perry, creating memories they would cherish for a lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Susie Bea Powell Daniels; and his grandparents, John and Versie Daniels and Lester and Susie B. Powell.
Logger is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Angela Riley Daniels; beloved son, John Perry Daniels; and his father, Clifford Daniels all of Marianna.
He is also survived by his sister, Carrie Daniels of Marianna; nieces, Taylor (Cody) Rudd of Sneads, Florida; Tiffany (Kole) Sims of Marianna, Florida; Kate Riley of Dripping Springs, Texas; and Charlotte Riley of Dripping Springs, Texas; his nephew, Blaine (Taylor) Hansford of Crawfordville; and his brother-in-law, Nathan Riley (Jesse) of Dripping Springs, Texas, his mother-in-Law, Joyce Riley and her husband, David Edenfield.
Logger had many lifelong friends he made that were more like family and while his absence will be felt, hopefully a smile will cross their heart with the next big buck they come across.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Eastside Baptist Church, with Pastors Juno Douglas, Bill Stephens, and David Beigle officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
Serving as pallbearers will be Victor Mock, John McCoy, Martin Basford, J.D. Johnson, Tanner McCoy, and Thomas Basford; honorary pallbearers will be Elton Horton, John Hamlin and James Walker.
Logger will be remembered for his dedicated service to his community, his love of the outdoors, and, above all, his devotion to his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
