Bobby Eugene Perkins

Bobby Perkins, 73, died peacefully Saturday, May 16, 2026, at home in Marianna following a brief illness.

A native of Jackson County who grew up in Bascom, Bobby was an avid outdoorsman who loved working with power tools. He was a huge fan of the Grit channel, babies and toddlers, pets, the Boston Celtics, the Indiana Fever and Southern country cooking.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Resch; children Laura Perkins Kent of Marianna, Jeremy Perkins (Brandi) of Bascom, Randy Perkins (Andrea) of Marianna, Mary Perkins of Dallas, and stepson David Berland (Alison) of Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Green Perkins and Evelyn Atwell Perkins; his brother, Robert Wayne Perkins; and his sister, Vickie Lynn Maloney.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 5 PM to 7:00 PM, at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Services and burial will be private in Lovedale Baptist Cemetery.

To honor Bobby’s love of the Florida outdoors, the family welcomes memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida.
