Allie Lorrena Benbo, 78, of Sneads, Florida, died Monday, February 9, 2026, at Jackson Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

She was born April 26, 1947, to Samuel and Lena Gertude Weston Cox, one of nine children. She spent her whole life in Jackson County, mostly in Sneads. Right after her high school graduation in 1965, she started working at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Tallahassee, where she worked for almost 40 years. Towards the end of her career, and after her retirement, she became a caregiver to her mother, and later to her sister. She was a very dedicated and determined person. Always willing to help, but not afraid to speak her mind first. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Franklin Cox and Lena Gertrude Weston Cox; siblings, James Samuel Cox, Robert Howell Cox, Robbie McAlpin, Jennie Sneads, Lavell Cox Neel, and two infant brothers

She is survived by her brother, Jimmie Cox (Janice); nieces and nephews, Steve McAlpin, Greg McAlpin, Pam McQuirk, Kenny Cox (Rita), Jeff Cox (Cookie), Gary Cox (Donielle), Chris Cox (Melea), Clay Cox (Leslie), Jamie Sneads (Amanda), and Charles Sneads (Kathy); many extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 13, 2026, at Circle Hill Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
