Lola Alice Johnson, 86, of Marianna, Florida died Thursday, March 31, 2022. Alice was born June 28, 1935 in Jackson County to Hilary and Audrey Watford. In 1955, she married her husband of 37 years, James D. Johnson. She worked for the Escambia County School system until 2005 when she moved to Marianna, Florida. After moving to Marianna, she became a member of Eastside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Joy Club. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Sara Neely. She is survived by three children, Denise Neal of Pensacola (Colon), David Johnson of Pensacola (Kelli), and J. D. Johnson of Marianna (Laurie); eight grandchildren, Clay, Clifton, Rebecca, Ashley, Kyle, James, Nichole and Mary Elizabeth. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sean Buice and Bill Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM CST at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, 7433 Pine Forest Rd, Pensacola, Fl 32536 with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:00 AM one hour prior to the service at Eastside Baptist Church.
