John H Schwencke, 88, of Marianna died Friday, April 22, 2022 at his home. He was a native of New York, served in the U S Army, moved to Marianna in 1981 where he was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Marianna. John was a retired building Contractor and a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, Optimus Club and the Moose Lodge. John served as the Jackson County Fair Manager for a number of years. Survivors include his wife, Mary; one son, Van Thomas Schwencke of Navarre; daughter, Vicki Pelham of Marianna; sister, Bessie Mallory and a brother, Frank Schwencke both of New York; four grandchildren, Mathew Pelham, Meagan Pelham, Bobby Schwencke and Tabitha McMullen; one great grandchild. Entombment was Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
